watch vikadakavi movie online

Vikadakavi is a 2011 tamil movie directed by G. Krishnan starring Amala Paul and Sathish in lead roles. Music score composed by Radhan. Despite Being a low budget tamil film this film performed well at tamil box office.

Story:

Many veterans in Kollywood had humble beginnings. Some of their debut movies made with minuscule budgets never made it big or faded into oblivion in the history of Kollywood. 19-year-old Amala Paul is famous as the upcoming lady in Kollywood, after her movie Mynaa became a grand hit, which earned her a role in Deiva Thirumagan opposite Vikram. Awaiting release for a year, Vikadakavi is actually Amala Paul’s Kollywood debut, but has released late.

Vikadakavi is the acronym of the names of five thick village friends: Vinod, Kavitha, Diana, Karuna and Virumandi. Born on the same day in the inauspicious Aadi month, the five-member gang is despised by the whole village for their mischief. Vinod (Satish) is thoughtful, Kavitha (Amala Paul) is wealthy, Diana (Pechi) is absent minded, Vrichika Kanth (Karuna) is a laggard and Virumandi (Irshadh) is loud mouthed. Together, they are a bunch of brats, constant irritants to the villagers.

The Vikadakavi gang members study at the local village school, and are always seen together playing pranks on unsuspecting adults. On a fateful day, Kavitha’s parents are killed in a road accident and the orphaned Kavitha is left in the care of her uncle, a nefarious man who pretends he cares for Kavitha, while his hidden intentions are on Kavitha's wealth. The Vikadakavis' bond grows stronger as they come together to support the agonised Kavitha.

The gang enters college and their prank riots continues. Through this phase, Vinod and Kavitha sense that they are romantically inclined to each other. As Vinod and Kavitha's love blossoms, the other three try their hands at romance, but in vain. Diana's absentmindedness, Karuna's sluggishness and Virumandi's crudeness puts off their partners. The trio abandon their romantic pursuits and decide to support their friends' relationship.

One day, a mysterious group of handicapped men meet Satish and share something they know about Kavitha. The information makes Satish ignore Kavitha and the gang's bitter days begin. Now, Kavitha's uncle too learns about her relationship with Satish. Realizing that Kavitha's relationship with Satish would grow stronger if he forced her to break it off, he makes some cunning moves, which ultimately make Kavitha turn against Satish. Now it is up to the trio to bring the gang back together; the rest of the movie is a moving drama of friendship and love.

G. Krishnan's Vikadakavi is a heart warming drama which celebrates childhood friendships that last a lifetime. The movie is filled with clean humour, which makes us nostalgic aut the unadulterated humour flicks of the 70s and 80s. In the movie, the Diana-Karuna- Virumandi trio ignite a laughing spree with their naivety. Remember the puny Vrichika Kanth in Kadhal? He is the one who plays Karuna, in which he aces. We would probably never have heard of any of these five actors in Vikadakavi except Amala Paul. The actress moves around as a shy girl with little screen space, but proves her talent in the few dialogues she presents. Amala's pair Satish is mediocre in his performance; his looks too seem average, which makes us hard to register him in our minds. Vikadakavi is a movie to enjoy with your family this summer, which will also remind you of the bygone Kollywood of the 70s and 80s.
